From Daily Wage Worker to Team Leader

A story of Determination: Meet Miss Pujitha whose determination to make her dreams come true never failed to amaze us.

Ms.Pujitha a B.COM graduate who worked as a daily wage worker (shoveling mud into the tractor), joined our SSDC in 2nd batch, when she learned that it is a centre which trains one in skills such as Computers, Spoken English, Accounting, life skills etc for those who are in need of a job and helps them in getting placed in a suitable sector.

Her family consists of her parents who are aged, and an elder sister who is already married. She had tried to find a job but failed as she did not possess the basic skills that are required for a job. Even when she couldn’t find a job that was fit for her qualifications, her determination to support her family lead her to work as a daily age worker by shoveling mud into the tractor to earn her family living.

Though she is from Talupula, a small village near Gurramkonda, She never missed a class during the entire course period. She would daily travel 48km up and down, just to improve her skills. She was a true example for a regular, polite, keen, straightforward and determined student.

Her struggle to find a secure job that she and her family can rely on, payed off when she got placed in Finance Buddha as a Assistant accountant, with a salary of 14,600 per month. When all seemed good with a bright future ahead, her dreams of working were put on hold, when her parents refused to send her to Bangalore on the day of her joining. Her parents, coming from a typical marginalized family, were scared of sending their daughter to a city like Bangalore. It took a great deal of convincing by our centre head Mr. Krishna, before they agreed to send her to Bangalore along with her colleagues.

 Before leaving to Bangalore she had promised her parents to not to lead astray, and focus on her carrier. True to her words, within 4 months of working, she got promoted to Assistant accountant team leader, and her Salary was also increased to 18K with incentives.

Even prior to joining at Finance Buddha, she had enrolled herself in Golden valley to pursue MBA from distance. This is a step taken by her, like many other students at our centre to study while earning in order to complete their education. At present she is writing her 2nd year MBA exams after which she will rejoin Finance Buddha to continue her work.
