Rising Through Determination

Deva Mahesh — SSDC

The Story

Dream great Dreams, then put on all of your efforts into it and make them come true… Mr. Deva Mahesh is one of such students at our SSDC who not only dreamed of great dreams but also worked hard to make them come true. Deva Mahesh was one of our second batch students, who is from a small village named Kurava palle, near Pothapolu. His family consists of his parents and a younger brother. His father used to work as a server in Ganesh hotel, in Madanapalle. His mother is a housewife. The salary of 5000 earned by his father was the only source of income that the family had. When we first met him, he was a B.Com fail student who couldn’t find any form of employment due to his backlogs. His main purpose behind joining our centre was to find a decent job, so that he can support his father in running his family. From day 1, Deva Mahesh was an extraordinary student who always dreamed high, and wanted to soar up in the sky. But he was one of those rare students who knew that one can’t directly climb the hundredth step, but need to start from step one. One of the things that always amazed us about him was his thirst for knowledge. He was an exceptional student who was always curious and showed constant interest in learning. Deva Mahesh is one of those rare persons who is suffering from a condition called Dextrocardia (a condition in which your heart is on the right side of your chest). Due to this condition he is physically very week. To find proper treatment for him, our Swastyakendra team (a hospital for the poor in Madanapalle, a branch under Satsang foundation) reached out to him. On further diagnosis of his condition it was found that, at present his condition is stable, but in future if there ever is a need for him to undergo surgery, Swastyakendra will be responsible for it. He got selected as a Tele-caller in His first interview in Finance Buddha, in Bangalore. But he wasn’t interested to work as a Tele-caller, and instead wanted to work in accounts section. Unfortunately, he wasn’t selected for that field. When he refused to work as a Tele-caller, the company gave him another offer to work as a Data entry operator, with a salary of 12,600 rupees with incentives. He took up the offer and worked there for 4 months. He changed his company after 4 months and joined IBM as a Data entry operator, with a salary of 18000. Even in IBM he worked for 4 months. At present he is working in Wipro as a Data entry operator and is earning 24000. His lifestyle has completely changed, his family who used to depend on their fathers’ income need not worry anymore and now he is even supporting his younger brother financially to complete his education. Only dreaming will not lead you to achieve them. It is hard work and commitment to achieve it at any cost is what makes one achieve them. Deva Mahesh is one such extraordinary candidate who proved it.
